Game Design
On Forgotten Earth I was a designer, my duties included:

Keeping the project and team focused on meeting the project brief.

Designing/testing controls, player movement and game mechanics.

Designing the flow of the level and how we would introduce mechanics.

Creating puzzles that reinforced gameplay mechanics.

Developed and iterated on a basic narrative for the character and world.

Documenting the design within a game design document.
During this project I developed the following skills:

Designing and leading a game project as part of a small team.

A deeper understanding of pipelines and project management.

How to communicate with fellow team members and ensure everyone understands the vision of the game.

How to professionally communicate with industry mentors via emails, meetings and presentations.

The importance of source control and how to use it.

Using in-engine tools created by programmers and giving them constructive feedback.

Taking information gathered from playtests and using it to iterate on mechanics and other aspects of design.
